Latest AdvancedTomato firmware releases and downloads for Asus RT-N66U
Asus RT-N56U is my favorite Wi-Fi router now and the price is dropping fast, so it might prove to be a great option for a gigabit router with 5Ghz capabilities. I usually go for Tomato, OpenWRT or DD-WRT firmware (in that order), but now I've tried the new Padavan Firmware and I'm delighted with it.

· @larcher - As soon as the router enters recovery mode it offers a minimal recovery mode web ui which allows for uploading any firmware (tomato shibby works fine). This means that the ASUS firmware recovery tool is not required. However, this website is only active for 10-15 seconds, so one needs to be very fast in selecting the appropriate firmware file and press upload.

Also, if I am using a custom firmware, I'd certainly rather be using either Tomato or DD-WRT. There is also OpenWRT but currently the status for the N56U is: *Note: I've tested many trunk versions; the wireless is not working. So, please DO NOT update your RT-N56U router untill the bug is fixed!!!
